Founded in 2008, doTERRA was built with the mission of sharing essential oils with the world. Having seen first-hand the incredible benefits that can be unlocked from these valuable resources, a group of healthcare and business professionals are committed to making this mission a reality. They started a company and called it doTERRA, a Latin derivative meaning “Gift of the Earth”.
The first hurdle, however, was establishing a quality standard in an industry that had never had one in place. It wasn't just about bringing essential oils to homes around the world. The founders of doTERRA wanted to offer the purest, highest quality essential oils so that families could ensure they were using only the best for the health and well-being of their members. Choice of plants
Each plant is chosen from the region where it is most effective. The plants are grown correctly and harvested at the optimal time, in ideal soil, at ideal temperatures and climates, so that they produce the best quality essential oil.
For example: lemon comes from Sicily, vetiver from Haiti etc… The plants come from fair trade.
